Teaching steps:
Step 1. Lead in (1)
Lead in the new words and phrases by comparing Shuren Middle School with Hanjing Experimental School.
Step 2. Presentation
Show pictures of three schools to give some of the information.
Step 3. Task 1—— Listening comprehension
1) Listen to the tape and finish the table in A1.
2) Check the answers
3) Compare the information
4) Answer True or False questions and check the answers.
Step 4. Task 2—— Finishing Daniel’s article
1) Complete Daniel’s letter in A2.
2) Check the answers by reading the article.
Step 5. Lead in (2)
A quick-answering game to get ready for A3.
Step 6. Task 3—— Online chat
Match the sentences on the right to the correct people in A3.
Step 7. Task 4—— Speak up: talking about different schools
1) Listen and answer questions.
2) A role play to practice reading.
3) Use the information we got from listening to make up new dialogues.
4) Act out the dialogue.
Step 8. Summary – A chant.
Step 9. Homework
1) Finish the reading exercises.
2) Talk about your school with your e-friends.
