Teaching objectives:
1. To listen for specific information to complete a table.
2. To recognize familiar keywords and main points.
3. To identify key phrases to determine precise meanings of different situations
4. To respond to information obtained from listening and reading
Teaching aids:
Computer and multimedia projector
Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Lead-in
1. Say something about Yangzhou Middle School.
2. Ask one student to say something about his school.
3. Compare these 2 schools, review ‘more/fewer/less…than’, ‘the same as’ and ‘different from’.
Step 2 Listening
1. Introduce 3 different schools.
2. Listen to the tape and check answers.
Step 3 Presentation
Compare these 3 schools with diagrams.
Step 4 Exercises
Do A2 in the textbook and then check the answers.
Step 5 Game
Play a guessing game. Do A3.
Step 6 Speak up
1. Listen to the tape and answer 2 questions.
2. Read the conversation.
3. Act it out.
4. Make up a new conversation according to the additional information.
Step 7 Discussion and report
Discuss the additional information in groups and give a report, take A2 as a model.

教后记
1. 本节课教学容量教大,教学目标涵盖了听、说、读、写四大技能。在教学中,以“任务型”教学为主线,合理分配各个教学任务,化繁为简,层层递进。
2. 兼顾复习前一课语法中的比较级也是一大重点,在教学环节中反复渗透比较级的复习
3. 在教学中,发现学生在搜索信息和归纳信息上能力欠佳,所以在做PartA和B之前一定要做好铺垫,呈现这一过程尤其重要。
4. 对话操练后,要让学生能真正掌握口语交际技能,必须让学生做拓展练习。通过让学生编新对话,讨论和总结等形式,使学生在活动中去学习。
