多媒体课件说明 :
本课件是根据牛津大学出版社义务教育课程标准实验教科书«牛津初中英语»七年级下册第一单元阅读部分内容制作的。课件分为片头,正文和片尾三部分,片头和片尾由图片、文字和人物卡通画构成。以悦耳的英文歌曲《country road》为背景音乐,让学生跟唱、打拍子,并辅以两个活泼可爱的中国娃“回家去”的卡通漫画形象,以轻松和谐的方式创设了优美的开课氛围;最后又在优美的萨克斯《go home》的音乐声中下课,无论是片头还是片尾都与本节课的话题“home”相呼应。正文部分用多媒体软件制作和编辑了大量图片、动画和声音素材,不但完成了教学任务,还结合了课文内容,在PowerPoint中文环境中完成了对所有媒体素材和有关功能的链接任务,充分利用了整个课件的演示功能。
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Warm-up activities:
1. Play a game.
Before the class , play the game “Beating the drum and passing the flower” together with the students.Ask one student to come to the front to beat the drum , the other students pass the flower . When the drum stops, the student who gets the flower must give any of the following performances . The teacher may supply necessary props .
A . dress up as a Monkey King
B. play with a yo-yo
C. tell the class his/ her family members in English
D. sing an English song
2. Ask a question and teach an English song .
Ask the class Do you like singing English songs? Most students
will probably answer “Yes!”
Teach the class to sing an old English song《Country road》
While singing, let the students clap together.
3. After singing the song, tell the students that “Country road takes me home , it makes us think of our homes, now I’ll show you my home.”
Step 2 Presentation
1. Introduce my family members to the students .
Ask the students to look at the big screen. On the screen is a photo of my family which is taken in front of my house. Tell the students who they are and what they are .
2.Introduce my house in the photo to the students.
Ask and answer :
T: Where are we standing now?
S : You’re standing in front of your house.
T : How many floors can you see in my house?
S :Two .
T : What’s this? Is this a balcony?
S: Yes, it’s a balcony.
3. Teach new words by describing my new house on the big screen.
Tell the students: We live in a town near Taizhou. My house is in the centre of the town . There are too many cars , too many people and too much noise here,so it is not quiet . There is also a wooden house on the top .But I must climb a ladder to get into the wooden house .There are six rooms in my house .My son and I live in the same room.That is to say , I share the bedroom with my son .Because he is so young that I must look after him . This is my house .Welcome to my
house !

4. Read new words.
Lead the students to read the new words using chant . Make sure they can pronounce correctly
e.g. balcony(clap)---balcony(clap)---balcony(clap)
town(clap) ---town(clap)---town(clap)
Step 3 Lead-in
1. Go on talking about my house .
Have the students look at my house in the photo again, ask What is my house made of? Help the students to answer It’s made of bricks.
2. Tell the students that our classroom is also made of bricks.
There’re many kinds of houses in the world.
3. Look , listen and answer .
Get the students to watch a film and try to find “ How many kinds of
houses are there in the flash?” The student who can answer the question the most quickly will get a present as a reward--- a nice wooden house. Encourage the students to look and listen carefully
and try to be the first .
4. Tell the students more about different houses .
Tell the students that different people live in different houses. There are also some other kinds of houses in the world. Some of them are places of great interest. They are interesting places to visit .
Ask the students if they would like to have a look at these places of interest.
5. Play a guessing game.
Show another film to the students. Let them guess what places of interest they are.
Step 4 Reading
1. Introduce my four friends to the whole class.
After enjoying some places of interest, introduce my four friends to the whole class. Because I think “The more friends we have , the happier we are !” tell the students they are Stephen , Madee , Neil and Anna .
They come from different countries ,they live in different dream homes .
2. Look and talk about the pictures .
Ask the students to look at the picture of Stephen on the big screen .
Talk about the picture with the class .Ask questions by:
a.What can you see in Picture 1 ?
b.Where is Stephen now ?
c.What is he doing ?
3. Do the same work for the next three pictures about Madee , Neil
and Anna .Ask questions by :
d.Which kind of house does Madee live in ?
e.Where is the wooden house ?
f. How can Madee get into the house ?
g.What is Neil’s favourite room ?
h.what is Neil doing in Picture 6 ?
i.Where are Neil and his dog ?
j.What is Anna doing ?
k.Where are Anna and her sister ?
4. Listen and do T or F exercises .
Books closed . Ask the students to listen to the recording and get ready to do T or F exercises :
1. Stephen lives in a small house in California, the USA.(F)
2. Madee’s house is near the river.(F)
3. Neil likes the kitchen best.(T)
4. Anna and her brother live in the same bedroom.(F)
5. Read and do WH-questions.
Books open! Ask the students to read the four passages freely by
themselves and then discuss WH-questions with their partners to check
for understanding :
a. What can Stephen do on the balcony ?
b. How does Madee get into her house ?
c. What do Neil and his family often do in the kitchen ?
d. Which floor does Anna live on ?
Step 5 Further reading
1. Do a survey.
Ask the students to scan the four passages and try to get the main points about the four friends to fill in the table below .Then check the
answers with the whole class.

2. Choose two students to read about Stephen’s and Madee’s houses .
3. Get the whole class to read together about Neil’s and Anna’s houses .
Step 6 Competition
1. Make an interview .
Present four pictures about different kinds of houses on the big screen. Divide the students in groups of four to discuss which kind of house they like best and why ?
The teacher goes around the classroom and gives students necessary help .
Ask one student to dress up as a reporter.He/She chooses some students to report their answers to the whole class.
2. Choose the best answer .
Compare and choose which group has the best answer .And this group will be the winner of the competition .
Step 7 Homework
Write a short passage about your dream home in exercise book .

本节课参加了由江苏省教育学会组织的教育学会系统课题研究优质课评比并荣获了省级一等奖。它是在任务型教学途径指导下的一堂阅读课,以每个学生都非常熟悉了解的home为话题,以新课程理念为依据进行教学设计和组织课堂活动,确立了以培养学生语言知识、应用能力、文化意识和学习策略为中心的教学目标,充分体现了为学生全面发展和终生发展与学习奠定基础的原则;目标梯形递进,并贴近生活,具有可操作性。教学活动以学生的生活经验和兴趣为出发点,采用任务型教学途径来实现各项目标,给学生提供有效信息资源和创设环境,帮助学生自己发现问题,自主进行讨论、研究并解决问题,为学生营造了独立学习的空间。同时,在课堂中营造宽松、民主、和谐的学习氛围,并合理利用多媒体技术,增强学生的直观体会,激发学生主动学习,使之成为课堂的主人。另外,在活动的形式上,听说读写交替进行,使学生的个人能力得到全面训练和提高。课堂组织以小组为单位,为全体学习创设使用和提高交际策略的环境,提高了活动效率,培养了学生的合作精神。评价过程采取抢答、小组竞赛的方式,既提高了学生的注意力,又增强了他们的集体荣誉感。所以我认为每一位教师都要尽量让每一节课成为一种艺术、一件精品,让英语真正成为学生学习的有用的工具。
