短文改错旨在测试考生发现、判断及纠错的能力。试题采用一篇大约100词的短文，这些短文往往以记叙文为主，题材贴近学生生活。在文中设置中学生写作时常犯的错误。同时它是全面考查学生英语基础和灵活运用语言能力的测试，因此，没有固定的解题模式。笔者通过对近年来的高考试卷的分析，找出了一些常见测试要点。


一、对基础知识的考查，主要表现在下面两个方面。

（一）一致性问题

1. 名词的单复数一致及名词与冠词搭配

（1） ……my studies so that I”ll get good marks in all my subject . （NMET 2001）

（句中subject应改为subjects）

（2）The day before the speech contest my English teacher talked to me．She said that she and my schoolmate all ……（NMET 2000）

（其中schoolmate应改为schoolmates）

（3）As everyone knows , it”s famous mountain with all kinds of plants and animals . （NMET 2002）

（在famous mountain前加a）

2. 主谓一致及动词时态一致问题

（1）Now my picture and the prize is hanging in the library . （NMET 2000）

（此句中主语是my picture and the prize , is 应改为are）

（2）I remembered her words and calm down . (NMET 2000)

（本句中calm应和其并列谓语remembered一致，改为calmed）

3. 代词指代一致问题

（1）The Smiths did his best to make me feel at home . (NMET 96)

（本句中his和The Smiths不一致，应改为their）

（2）The three of them were very excited . (NMET 2002)

（根据全文逻辑关系，其中them实际上应指代的是“我们”，故应改为us）

（3）Now someone at home reads instead . (NMET 99)

（根据上文，应将someone改为everybody）


（二）常用短语及习惯用法

1. 常用短语

（1）Suddenly , I caught a sight of my English teacher in the crowd . (NMET 2000)

（catch sight of是常用短语，应将本句中a去掉）

（2）……in any other words , I”m an only child . (NMET 2001)

（in any other words应改为in other words ，属常用短语）

2. 习惯用法

（1）Today I visited the Smiths-my first time visit to……（NMET 96）

（本句应删去time一词，“我第一次拜访”英语应为my first visit，属习惯用法）

（2）I”d like to your pen friend . (NMET 97)

（在I”d like to 后加be或become）

（3）What your favorite sport ?

（在What后加is）

（4）It was very kind for them to meet me at the railway station……（NMET 96）

（将本句中for改为of）


二、对语篇理解的考查主要表现在对上下文衔接及逻辑推理是否合理的考查上。

（1）She was smiling but nodding at me……（NMET 2000）

（从上下文的逻辑分析，本句中的but应改为and）

（2）Now I can”t watch much television but a few years ago ……（NMET 99）

（由全文可知：我现在不能看电视是因为电视机没了，而不是不能花较多的时间看电视。故应将much一词去掉）

（3）Whenever I see them I will often think of my English teacher . （NMET 2000）

（此题考查行文连贯。often在行文上不得体，应删去）

（4）First , let me tell you something more about myself .（NMET 97）

（通过上下文可知，作者在这里是第一次向对方介绍自己的情况，不存在更多，故应删去more一词）
