第二步:把这个从句盖上,看它在主句中的语法功能,从而判断从句的性质。例句1成为--------is true .轻松判断这是一个主语从句。例句2成为All ------- is true 。它不是主语从句,因为all 作了主语,这个从句来修饰all 这个代词的。它是定语从句。 第三步:把从句打开,添上合适的连词。注意添连词看从句。一般来讲,在名词性从句中,缺主语,宾语或表语的用连词what ..而例句2中,从句he said 也 缺宾语,但添that .因为从句性质不一样。大家可以用这种方法来分析下面的句子。 That is the bike that /whichI bought yesterday .(定语从句) That is what I bought yesterday. (表语从句) Anybody who breaks the law should be punished .(定语从句) Whoever breaks the law should be punished .(主语从句) China is no longer what it was(表语从句) China is no longer the one that it was. (定语从句) The news that he won the game is not true.(同位语从句) The news that/which he told me is not true.。(定语从句) He handed in everything that he stolen to the police.(定语从句) He handed in what he stolen to the police .(宾语从句)
Make a mark where you have questions .(地点状语从句) Make a mark at the place where /at which you have questions .(定语从句) No matter who/Whoever breaks the law, he should be punished.(让步状语从句) Anybody who breaks the law should be punished.(定语从句) Those who break the law should be punished .(定语从句) 分析:这是定语从句和状语从句的区别。如何判断从句的性质,也可用上面的“一划二盖三打开”方法。试试看。 Give me a pen to write with. Give me a pen with which to write Give me a pen with which I can write 、 Give me a pen which /that I can write with . 分析:定语从句做定语,也可以和不定式相转换,同时定语从句也可简化,如with which I can write =with which to write He has great difficulty raising his children .
