I’m as right as rain. 3. I’m fighting fit. 4. I can’t complain. 5. She is the picture of health. And if you’ve been ill: 1. I’m back on my feet. 2. I’ve got a new lease of life. 3. I’ve been given a clean bill of health. 4. I’m well on the way to recovery. Eg: 1. ---My dad is feeling much better. He is well on the way to the recovery. ---Yes, I saw him yesterday. He seems to have got a new lease of life. 2. ---I can’t believe your grandfather is 87. He looks fantastic for his age. --- I know. And he is very active. He is still as fit as a fiddle. 3. ---You don’t look well. Why don’t you go home? --- It’s OK. I’ve just taken some aspirin. I’ll be as right as rain. 4. I’ve just been to visit my grandmother. She is amazing. She is 84 but she is the picture of health. 5. --- How are you, Liz? --- Oh, I can’t complain. I’m back on my feet again. Not exactly I’m fighting fit but much better than I was this time last year. Note: People used to say they were in the pink when they were very well.
